Yemplea expands to hospitality: find jobs in hotels, restaurants and beach clubs

When we launched Yemplea eighteen months ago, the goal was simple: connect nautical professionals with charter companies on the Spanish coast. We've done that. Over 1,000 registered workers, dozens of active companies, and a platform that works.

But for months we've been hearing the same thing from two different directions. Workers tell us: "can you add hospitality?" Hotels and restaurants in our database ask us: "when can we post jobs for waiters and chefs?"

Today we have the answer: now.

Why hospitality, why now

The short answer: because it makes economic, geographic and timing sense.

The Spanish coast is the heart of two industries that share geography, seasonality and worker profile. A sailor finishing their contract in October can perfectly work in a Canary Islands hotel in winter. A waitress working at an Ibiza beach club in summer can look for work in a Barcelona restaurant in winter. The coastal worker already does this — we were only giving them tools for one half.

The timing is right too. The 2026 nautical season is winding down. Ibiza, Mallorca and the mainland coast are entering the off-season. But the Canary Islands are entering their best period. And hotels and restaurants across Spain — not just on the coast — need staff year-round.

Spain's hospitality sector moves over €100 billion a year and employs more than 1.7 million people. It's the country's second largest sector. Yet it's still a market where most jobs are managed via WhatsApp, informal referrals and generalist job boards that don't understand the industry.

Which venues come first

We've decided to start where there's the most volume and genuine need for qualified staff:

• Hotels: 3 to 5-star properties in coastal areas. They need receptionists, restaurant waiters, housekeeping staff and chefs experienced in hotel kitchens.
• Restaurants: from fine dining to high-volume tourist restaurants. Waiters, head waiters, line cooks and kitchen assistants.
• Beach clubs: the fastest-growing segment in Spain over the past few years. Ibiza, Mallorca, Costa del Sol, Barcelona. They need staff with presentation, languages and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.

How the match works in hospitality

The system is the same as nautical, adapted to the sector. As a worker, you create a profile indicating your specialties, availability, preferred establishment type and area. The algorithm calculates a compatibility score with each offer.

If you're already a Yemplea user from the nautical sector, you don't need a new account. From your profile settings you can activate hospitality and access offers from both sectors from the same app.
