Waiter jobs in Ibiza and Mallorca: guide for the 2027 season

Working as a waiter in Ibiza or Mallorca is one of those experiences that either marks you for life or makes you swear you'll never go back. It depends on where you work, with whom, and whether you go prepared.

What you really earn

• Volume tourist restaurant: €1,400–1,700/month gross. Scarce or no tips.
• 4-5 star hotel: €1,600–2,000/month gross. More stability, regular shifts.
• Mid-to-high-end restaurant: €1,700–2,200/month. Variable tips, €100–400/month.
• Premium beach club (Ushuaïa, Nikki Beach, Amante, Blue Marlin...): €1,800–2,200/month gross. Tips in high season can add €500–1,000/month extra.
• Private villa or VIP catering: €2,500–3,500/month for experienced waiters with good English.

Important: accommodation in Ibiza costs €700–1,000/month for a shared room. If the contract doesn't include it, subtract it from your effective salary.

When and how to look for work

The most common mistake: looking for work in May, when the good positions are already filled.

• January–February: premium establishments are already hiring. If you want a good beach club or 5-star hotel, this is the time.
• March: most offers for experienced waiters and bartenders are published.
• April: little left for experienced staff. Only emergency positions remain.

What separates those who get rehired from those who don't

• Fluent English, minimum B2. In an Ibiza beach club, 70% of clients speak English.
• Real availability for the full season. May to October, not June to August.
• Ability to work under pressure. A Saturday in August at a beach club with 400 people is not for everyone.
• Presentation. In premium establishments, the team's image is part of the client experience.
