Complete guide to working as a stewardess on a yacht
This is the guide I wish I'd had when I started out. Five seasons later, here's everything you need to know about the stewardess role — no sugarcoating.
What does a stewardess do on a yacht?
The stewardess is responsible for the interior department: cleaning, table service, guest attention, laundry management and general yacht organization. It is one of the most sought-after positions on the Yemplea platform. On smaller yachts, a single stewardess covers all these functions. On superyachts, there are teams of 3-6 stewardesses with a chief stewardess in charge.

How to get started
The stewardess position is one of the most accessible in the nautical sector. It doesn't require any nautical certification beyond STCW Basic. If you have hospitality, restaurant or customer service experience, you have a significant advantage.
