What is Horizen Yachting — broker, not marina

Horizen Yachting is not a traditional marina. It's a nautical broker: it works with vessels from multiple operators and offers them through a single booking platform. The advantage for clients is clear: access to a much larger fleet through one point of contact, with boat, skipper and crew selection all curated.

It operates from Marina Botafoc and Marina Ibiza, the island's two reference marinas, and also covers Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.

Navigation areas from Ibiza

Horizen's fleet operates from Marina Botafoc and Marina Ibiza. The most popular routes:

• South coast: Cala d'Hort, Es Vedrà, Cala Carbó, Cala Vadella — perfect for a full day
• North coast: Cala Xarraca, Cala Salada, Portinatx — quieter, less July traffic
• Crossing to Formentera: approx. 1 hour. Ses Salines, Espalmador, Es Pujols — recommended on mid-range yachts and superyachts
• Inter-island: Mallorca or Menorca — available on vessels with overnight capability

Do I need a licence to rent a boat in Ibiza?

It depends on the vessel and whether you hire a skipper:

• Without skipper: you need at minimum a PER (Spanish recreational boat licence) for vessels up to 12 metres. For larger vessels, Patrón de Yate or higher.
• With skipper included: most of Horizen's fleet includes a certified skipper. No personal licence required.
• Horizen skippers: all hold verified DGMM certification and experience in Balearic charter. Many have a verified profile on Yemplea.

What's included in the charter?

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a boat in Ibiza?
From €480/day for a 7-metre speedboat to €14,950/day for the Riva 90 Argo in peak season. The most popular range (12-16 metre motor yacht with skipper) is €1,250–€3,600/day.

Are there boats available without a skipper?
Yes, the Karnic 702 Nautilus can be hired without a skipper if you hold a PER licence or higher. The rest of the fleet includes a skipper.

Can we go to Formentera?
Yes, it's one of the most requested routes. The crossing takes approximately 1 hour from Ibiza port. Recommended departure before 10am to avoid summer marine traffic.
